- Large charity raffle in aid of the Alexian Equestrian Therapy Centre in Münster
- 8th veterinary conference on the topic: "Practice-relevant topics from orthopaedics and dentistry" with over 200 veterinarians received great interest
(Münster) From 09 to 13 January, the traditional January tournament of the Münster Equestrian Association took place. Top-class sport from the fields of show jumping, dressage and driving attracted numerous visitors and horse enthusiasts to the grounds of the Halle Münsterland.
The presentation stand of the derbymed® brand was the focus of attention for many visitors to the K&K Cup. There was a good reason for this, the team organised a big charity tombola with over 400 great prizes. On Sunday, the derbymed® stand received support with raffle sales from the Alexian riding students. In total, an overwhelming donation sum of € 3,200 was raised. On the last day of the tournament, the donation cheque was officially handed over to the Alexianer Münster GmbH and the joy about this sum was particularly great among the Special Olympics athletes.
Since horse riding as a sport for people with a disability has long been firmly established in the equestrian scene and the aspect of sporting integration has taken on a special significance, the Alexians also have a sports programme on offer in addition to the normal riding therapy. Depending on their performance, they offer their athletes the opportunity to participate in the qualifications for the Special Olympics, the Olympic Games for people with intellectual disabilities.
Derbymed Product Manager Philipp Hartmann emphasises that the derbymed® brand has sporting and social promotion at heart. With the proceeds of the charity raffle in favour of the equestrian therapy centre of the Alexianer Münster, equestrian sports are supported in the region.
Together with the Telgte veterinary clinic, the LIVISTO company made special use of the popular event. Embedded in the high-calibre sporting setting, more than 200 interested veterinarians attended the specialist lectures by renowned speakers such as Prof. Dr. Augustinus Bader, Prof. Dr. Anton Fürst, Dr. Werner Jahn and Dr. Carsten Vogt on the topic of "Practice-relevant topics from orthopaedics and dentistry."
